The Misfits Play the Great Hall
The original Glenn Danzig-led Misfits that formed in 1977 are punk rock royalty. Bassist and now-singer Jerry Only is the only remnant from that era in the current touring version of the band, but guitarist Dee Cadenza from Black Flag adds some early ’80s hardcore authenticity. Regardless of their roots, the new band is more metal than punk rock (think Gwar, without the fake blood and piss), and though they were always caricatures of themselves be design, they’re now more like caricatures of caricatures. But it’s still a hell of a show.
