Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds w/ The Pimps of Joytime: Fri. Nov. 21
Sister Sparrow & the Dirty birds are bringing what the Wall Street Journal describes as a “…stick-to-your-ribs style rock…” to the stage at Underground Arts this Friday, Nov. 21.
Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds is a seven-piece powerhouse that puts a modern spin on classic soul. The band is led by Arleigh Kincheloe (Sister Sparrow), whose astoundingly powerful voice and sly demeanor make for a spellbinding presence onstage. She is backed by the mighty force of The Dirty Birds, a flock of seven men who masterfully lay down thundering grooves and soaring melodies.
Doors open at 9:00 p.m., show starts at 10:00 p.m., with Brooklyn’s own Pimps of Joytime kicking off the evening with their own unique blend of funk, soul and rock-n-roll.
The Pimps of Joytime are notable for their genre blending style and relentless touring. They incorporate influences from such genres as afrobeat, Latin, reggae and funk. They have gained national recognition while touring the music festival circuit, performing at Bonnaroo, All Good, Mountain Jam, Outside Lands, Summer Camp, High Sierra, and others.
Tickets are $15 in advance, available HERE. Day of show tickets cost $18. Note: this event is for ages 21 and up.
